Teaching Table Flyer

Concept

The Center for Academic Innovation required a flyer to be made that outlined the dates of their upcoming teaching table events with a university professor audience in mind primarily. This lead to my production of a flyer with a clean, professional mindset with the SVSU university colors used on the front and back of the flyer to highlight important date information.

Project Rationale

In terms of typography, I went for a consistent use of sans-serif fonts for ease of readability. Since I chose to use solely sans-serif fonts, I created hierarchy through differences in weight and color of the fonts, as well as size and use of italic vs. not. With the amount of information I was given to fill both the front and back sides of the flyer, it was a challenge to get everything to fit in an organized and cohesive manner, I arrived at the final layout through use of boxes to help break up and balance the information.

All of the colors used reflected those of Saginaw Valley State University's school color standards. This brought ties in between our office and the university as a whole. I used the colors in the dates of the various events to show which events were being held in 2019 and 2020.

The image above is the front of flyer which includes more general information about the events such as when, where and what the events concerned. The reverse side of the flyer (as shown below) delves deeper into the more minute details of the various sessions that may entice faculty members at the university further to attend a particular session that our office offered.
